review: Speck CandyShell Card Case for iPhone 4

CandyShell-CardCase-iPhone Ever have a time where you wish you could just carry your iPhone with you and not anything else? Unfortunately since having your ID and maybe a card or two to pay for things is a necessity when stepping out, you would usually need to have a wallet with you. Not anymore! At least with the Speck CandyShell Card case for your iPhone 4.

The CandyShell card is like the other CandyShells from Speck its a hard plastic exterior, with a soft, rubbery interior that absorbs shock and impact that would otherwise harm your iPhone 4.

However, the biggest difference is that this is a bit thicker than the rest, and with good reason the back of the case has a slot for carrying your credit or ID cards. This slot is designed so you can slide in your cards from the left, and push them out from the right side with your thumb.

Up to three cards can fit in this slot, so its enough for your form of ID and two payment cards, or whatever you use. Even if you dont have three, the cards will stay secure in the slot because of the rubber material as well as the ridge in the middle of the rubber. This makes the cards stay in place so that they do not fall out of the slot as youre moving.

The power and volume buttons get a nice, thick layer of rubber to protect them, and the case leaves openings for the silent mode toggle switch, headphone port, and charging port.

With the silent mode toggle switch, there is plenty of room so that this case accommodates both the AT&T and Verizon models of the iPhone 4.

There is enough space around the charging port opening to be used with older cables as well. The camera and flash get a cutout too, though this cutout makes you realize just how thick this case needed to be just to accommodate a few plastic cards.

The CandyShell card is just like all the other CandyShells from Speck, just a bit thicker so you can hold your cards as well. The case does add a bit of bulk, but in the end, you should be carrying less with this case rather than without it.
