Android 2.3.4 rumored adding GTalk video chat support

The next update for Googles Android 2.3.4 for smartphones is rumored to be adding Google Talk with video chat support. An alleged Samsung employee with the Twitter profile @MAFiA303 has tweeted that they have used the feature on the Nexus S, equipped with the yet to be released Gingerbread 2.3.4. The features is expected to be officially unveiled at Googles I/O developer conference scheduled in the next two weeks.

Google Talk with video chat capabilities are already built into Googles Android 3.0 (Honeycomb) tablet-specific OS. While a number of Android phones already support video chatting through third-party apps on the Android Marketplace, the updated app is expected to bring higher quality video chatting for Android smartphone users.

Google Nexus S users can expect to be the first to get the feature when the next build of the Gingerbread OS is released. As it runs a plain vanilla version of the Googles Android OS that does not include a manufacturer customized UI, it is much easier to upgrade than other Gingerbread 2.3, or 2.3.3 equipped devices.
