Toshiba has gone into detail for the Japanese launch of its first Android 3.0 tablet, the Regza Tablet AT300. First teased in late January, the 10.1-inch device will be out in Japan late in June and is estimated to cost the equivalent of $729 (60,000 yen). The device promises a 1280x800 resolution, a full USB port, HDMI output and a five-megapixel, rear-facing camera along with a front-facing camera.
Like most Android 3.0 tablets, it will have a dual-core 1GHz Tegra 2 processor onboard tied to 1GB of RAM. It carries 16GB of storage built-in. Toshiba claims up to seven hours of video playback time, significantly lower than the iPad or Xoom. A TV recorder is built-in and unique to the Japanese version.
When the device exactly arrives in markets other than Japan remains to be seen, although it had originally been promised for June in the US.
