AOC, one of the largest makers of value-priced LCD screens, on Monday said will bring a $200 Android tablet to CES. Called Breeze, it will sport an eight-inch, 800x600 touchscreen, have 4GB of built-in memory and a microSD memory card slot in addition to a USB port. Unusually, the company will preload the now year-old Android 2.1 and thus will need some hardware buttons to navigate.
Powering the tablet will be a Rockchip CPU, though details are scarce. It should be capable of showing HD video, however. The tablet will weigh 1.1lbs, and battery life is claimed to be six hours when playing video or 12 with audio either through the speaker or the headphone jack.
The tablet will be released later in January.
