Google has showed the first signs that it's getting ready to add third-party app support for the Google TV. Developers have noticed that apps now have to be checked to see whether or not they're using a touchscreen. Every Android phone shipped to date uses touch, suggesting that the additions are just for the TV platform.
Support for outside titles was promised for early 2011 on launch but has mostly been kept dark until now. Google TV needs both a larger resolution and can't make the same assumptions about location or other features as on a phone. Every app will have access to a hardware keyboard and a trackpad or mouse.
